Winlock-Vader Foodbank

St. Paul Lutheran supports our local food bank financially, through organized collections, and through volunteer efforts.

In the summer, a food bank garden is prepared, planted, tended and harvested on the church grounds.

Mobile Meals Ministry
Jesus fed the hungry. So do we.

The first weekend of the month is our weekend to feed the hungry in the Centralia/Chehalis area. We work in partnership with St. John's Lutheran and St. Tim's Episcopal to ensure that there is a hot meal served to those in need every Saturday. This takes place at Gather Church in Centralia and is supported by Rise Lewis County.

On Friday mornings we gather at St. Paul to assemble sandwiches and cold lunch packs to be handed out. On Saturday morning we prepare and serve a hot meal at Gather Church.

Quilting

September through May on Wednesday mornings, quilters come together to sew, assemble, and tie quilts to be donated. These quilts are tangible signs of how God wraps us in love, especially in times of crisis and vulnerability.

In the last few years many of our quilts were shipped to victims of wildfires in the West. In 2018 quilts went to residents of Paradise, California. In 2020 quilts were sent to Eastern Washington fire victims.

Quilts can be purchased for $40. The funds support the quilting ministry providing necessary supplies.

You are welcome to come quilt. No experience sewing is necessary.

Kids Essentials

Sweatshirts, socks, underwear, books, backpacks, and school supplies help get kids in our community off to a good start. Families are invited to come make selections and pick up supplies on a Saturday before school starts.
